Congratulations on selecting Premier Christmas Trees as your Christmas tree vendor.
There are few things you should know about your trees, as you prepare for this Christmas sales season.
First and foremost, Premier’s goal is to provide the freshest and highest quality tree possible for your customers – In this you play a vital role as well.
Your trees have been grown in the beautiful lush green Willamette Valley of Oregon for from seven to nine years or more, and are cultivated through that growing process by experienced teams. These trees have been hand sheared along the way to develop the 65 percent taper that your customers have come to expect. That “Christmas Tree” look doesn’t just happen, it has been cultivated throughout the growing process.
Premier’s measuring system is very unique in that we add 4 inches to the measuring pole that allows your customers to have a bigger size tree for their money.
When harvest season finally arrives for the mature tree, each one is hand selected, cut, and helicoptered out of the field to waiting crews, who shake, bail, and load the truck for delivery to your location.
After the harvest and delivery of the trees to your location. Your personnel will unload and stack them on pallets to protect them from the harmful effects of the sun, pavement and concrete.
When the trees are stacked and inventoried they need to be quickly covered with burlap or shade cloth. Watering the burlap down each night or early in the morning allows the trees to take in moisture through their needles, keeping them fresher for your customers.
When you are ready to display the trees, we recommend you only present the number you expect to sell in a one to two day period. That alone will increase the keep-ability of your trees.
To prepare for this busy seasonal sales event, each store should have a complete diagram of the storage and display area. Have pallets in place for storage of the trees. Have signage in place, making sure it is clean, tight and professional. Review with each staff member the importance of the tree tag that has included on it, the type of tree, the size of the tree and care instructions for your customers, and how to use the tear off portion of the tag for quick and accurate check out.
A QRC code is also included on the tag. With a smart phone the customer can scan the QRC code and it will take them to a web site that will give more detailed instructions on how to care for their trees and where to recycle them.
